U.S. Gun Murder Rate?

Someone stopped by searching for “us gun murder rate.”

Sure. If I could get copy and paste to work properly it would be eaiser, but in…

2012 there were 12,888 homicides, 8,897 or 66.9% gun related, for a homicide rate of 2.8 per 100,000 population

1023 saw 8,454 gun related homicides, for a rate of 2.66 per 100,000 population.

2014 saw 8,312 gun related murders, for a gun homicide rate of 2.7 per 100,000 population. This was the last year of decline, since Bloomberg started pouring $10,000,000 a month int a gun ban campaign after Congress failed to pass Joe Manchin’s gun ban bill.

2015 saw a total of 9,778 firearms facilitated murders, for a rate of 3.0 homicides per 100,000 population. and…

2016 ended with a total of 11.004 gun related homicides, an da firearms facilitated homicide rate of 3.4 per 100,000 population.

so, in two years, assuming the long term decline held up, gun control campaigns cost more than 1800 lives in heir first two full years of existence.

With that, and as usual, here is a link to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report for 2016, with a breakdown of murders by weapon, adn other facts that may be of interest.
