Report, “Fast and Furious'” Carillo Set To Change His Plea

The Arizona Capital Times reports Julio Jose Carillo, one of the “straw purchasers” for the Sinaloa Cartel, is set to plead guilty.

Briefly quoting the Capital Times report linked above:

Carrillo had previously pleaded not guilty to faces charges of conspiracy, dealing guns without a license, making false statements during a firearms purchase and money laundering.

He is accused of buying 10 AK-47 variants from a gun shop in metro Phoenix on behalf of the ring.

I note that the Capital Times still calls Operation Fast and Furious a “botched investigation” instead of an attempt to provide arms to the Sinaloa Cartel, in order to provide a basis for gun control laws. Laws that have historically driven violent crime rates sky high.
