“Opposition To Gun Control Is Self Serving”

A Lee newspaper, the St. Louis Post Dispatch carries a Letter to the Editor saying this::

Self-serving rationale in rejecting gun-control laws

Well, here is what those gun control laws did to Missouri:

Obviously, Federal law affecting Missourians and restrictive State gun laws have done nothing good for the Show-Me State. In fact, if we look at the violent crime rates we can see worse results:::

These charts are part of a set of 10 showing in detail what gun control has done to Missouri. and are typical of chats showing the effects of restrictive gun laws the world around.

Most importantly those charts show why gun control has Cost $50,200,000,00 spread over 54 years. And why gun control currently costs aat least $395,000,000 a year, or $800 a year for every Missourian, or $1,850 for every family of three.

Remember, whether you see the enormous sums consumed by the criminal justice system, the increase in prices of health care and consumer goods, and the other costs, every one of us pays the tab for restrictive gun laws that do nothing.

Self serving????? Of course fighting gun control is fighting in our own interests. The only way we are ever going to live in a civilized society is to repeal or preempt the laws that drove violent crime rats sky high.
