Gun Safety Student Has NID, Instructor Killed

An Ohio gun dealer who was when a student in his gun safety class hand a “Not Intentional Discharge with the bullet striking him in the neck.

Briefly quoting the FOX report linked above:

The owner of an Ohio gun shop was shot and killed when a student in a concealed carry permit class accidentally discharged a weapon

These tragedies account for a surprising percentage of America’s fatal firearms accidents. Two LEO firearms deaths were accidental in 2015, 2014, and 2013, and up to six in one year back in the 1990’s.

“Unload your weapon” should be the first priority when a firearm is removed from its holster or carrying case.

Even at that, “Every gun is loaded until it is proven not to b” should be the first thing taught. To do otherwise is to make yourself a target for the thoughtless or excitable.
