Florida Senate Approves Gun Control Package

NPR reports the Florida Senate has flipped and approved a gun control pacckage.

Briefly quoting the NPR report linked above:

The Florida State Senate passed a package of gun control measures designed to prevent another school shooting like the attack on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., last month.

The “package” appears to be nothing more than this years list of ban precursors, including banning bump stocks, raising purchase age, and the old familiar refrains.

There is a provision to allow to be armed, but a comment that went by was to the effect the requirements were so strigent that few teachers would have time to ccomply. That would be another old refrain IF it is true.

Since I see nothing to force Law Enforcement to use best practices in a school shooting or other mass murder, the only thing that seems to have possible vale is arming the teachers, and at the moment that is an open question.

So chalk up one for the gun ban industry, and mark down the perpetrators names.
