Crime And Gun Control

As regular Alley watchers know, we are presenting the unvarnished truth about gun control, backed by official data linked in the text.

So far, we have 25 States and the District of Columbia posted, and we will begin a West to East tour of the Canadian border, starting with Alaska, today or tomorrow.

Each of the States already posted have many points in common. Crime starts to rise when gun control campaigns are initiated. Crime rises faster when gun control laws are imposed. The three year and five year results of gun controls are quite similar, especially in timing. And the peaks of American violent crime totals c came in 1993, unless there was some reasonably obvious reason for a delay.

And finally, crime rates declined from the peak not at all unless restrive gun laws were relaxed.

At the moment the two among our group disagree on whether the chance of all that happening by accident is measured in quadrillions or quintillions – but as a practical matter the probability that the next gun control law will do exactly the same as the 57,604 gun laws we already know about have done are for all practical purposes not infinite.

Those who support gun control not knowing the certain consequences deserve pity – and an education.

Those who support gun control because their political party does deserve a few years at a “political correction cam” such as Dachau, so they can see the ultimate result of gun control.

And we common folk, we bitter clingers, deserve preemption of ALL restrictive gun laws.
