The International Business Daily reports Obama has managed to infuriate our two major trading partners, Canada and Mexico.
Canada is angry because the Obama regime has blocked the XL pipeline. As a result, most of the low priced Canadian oil that has kept our gasoline prices down will go to China, and American refiners will pay world prices for oil. And we will wind up paying far more for gasoline.
Canada is also angry because Bam has blocked Canada’s attempt to join the Trans Pacific Trade Partnership, a deal that would benefit both Canada and the United States. Mexico has also been blocked in its attempt to joint the TPTP, and it’s economy is suffering as a result.
And then Mexico’s Calderon has another serious beef with Bam. Briefly quoting the IBD news report linked above:
Excelsior of Mexico City reported that President Felipe Calderon bitterly brought up Operation Fast and Furious, a U.S. government operation that permitted Mexican drug cartels to smuggle thousands of weapons into drug-war-torn Mexico. This blunder has wrought mayhem on Mexico and cost thousands of lives.
Of course, Calderon has every right to be bitter; as have the Mexican people. The various ATF operations have shipped a minimum of 13,000 rifles to Mexico, where they have been used to kill hundreds and quite likely thousands of Mexicans.
Rifles that have been deliberately discarded at murder scenes to rub Calderon’s nose in the fact his supposed ally, Obama, is deliberately arming the revolutionaries. Calderon’s political party is facing a crushing loss in the July elections, and Calderon is getting the blame.
So both Canada and Mexico have every right to be extremely angry with the United States; even if they do not consider the US an open enemy.
