Americans Are Not “Ungovernable” Provided The Government Acts In American’s Interests

An Instapundit link led me to a very interesting essay, “Ungovernable,” on Sarah Hoyt’s blog, According to Hoyt.

Sorry, you get no spoilers from me. Click on the link, and read it.

In fact, my sole comment will be that our Masters Who Art In Washington think we must be governed as Solomon and Rehoboam governed Israel, the first with small whips much like quirts, the latter with the much larger and more painful whips called “scorpions.”

Our Masters Who Art In Washington are mistaken. Americans are easily governed, so long as we are governed according to the will of the people. When the government acts in opposition to the will of the American people, all hell usually breaks loose.
