According To Calguns The ATF and DOJ Plan On Doing Something Constructive

A Calguns e-mail reports the following:

According to the National Firearms Act Trade & Collectors Association, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) are preparing to remove the often burdensome Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) signature requirement from Form 1 and Form 4 for NFA firearms.

I would link the entire item but the link – she no worrrk! So all I can say is that it would be a welcome development when and if it comes off. I have no personal problem getting a CLEO signature, but many gunnies live in jurisdictions where a suggestion than a law abiding citizen would wish to possess basic safety equipment such as a suppressor results in a brown shorts moment.
