Hurricane Irmas eye is currently reported to be offshore Cuba east of Havana. Irma is moving west at 9 mph, with maximum sustained winds of 1224 MPH, or Category 4
Once landfall is made the forecast is for Irma o follow I075 t tge Atlanta area and then veer west as a tropical depression.
The forecast is for Irma to make a sharp right, make landfall in the Tampa Ybor City, area, and continue to gather strength from the very warm northern Gulf, and strengthening back to a Category 4.
Please keep in mind that forecasts are essentially educated guesses, os if the eye comes ashore in Bradenton instead of Tampa, it is not the forecasters fault. They are doing the best they can with the tools they have. Just the same as the rest of us.
